Pro Bono Connection: For Clients
Access Limited Legal Guidance for Your Post-Conviction Case
At Criminal Defense Services, we understand that navigating post-conviction relief can be overwhelming. Thatβs why we created Pro Bono Connectionβa program that connects eligible clients with licensed attorneys who can provide limited pro bono legal assistance in reviewing Personal Restraint Petitions (PRPs) and other post-conviction documents.
π¨ Important: This program does not provide full legal representation, and participation is only available to clients who have completed a full investigation with Criminal Defense Services.
How It Works
βοΈ Step 1: Eligibility Check
- You must have completed a full investigation with Criminal Defense Services to qualify.
- This ensures that attorneys receive detailed case reports, allowing them to focus on legal strategy rather than re-investigating your case.
βοΈ Step 2: Attorney Review
- If approved, your case will be reviewed by a participating attorney who will provide limited guidance.
- Attorneys may:
πΉ Offer feedback on your PRP or post-conviction documents.
πΉ Provide general legal direction and next steps.
πΉ Not file documents or act as your full legal representative unless they choose to separately.
βοΈ Step 3: Receive Legal Guidance
- Once matched, your attorney will provide limited assistance under the program guidelines.
- If further representation is needed, you may discuss a separate private agreement with the attorney outside of this program.
Client Eligibility & Waiver
To participate in Pro Bono Connection, all clients must sign a Client Waiver & Acknowledgment Form, which confirms:
π No Attorney-Client Relationship β The attorneyβs assistance is limited to reviewing documents and providing general legal feedback. There is no obligation for them to represent you.
π No Ineffective Assistance Claims β Since this is limited legal guidance, attorneys cannot be held responsible for ineffective assistance of counsel claims.
π No Guaranteed Outcomes β Participation in the program does not guarantee case success or court filings.
π Professional Conduct β Clients are expected to communicate respectfully and follow program guidelines. Failure to do so may result in removal from the program.
